Kiki's Development - 90 Days

Kiki's Development - 90 Days

July 28th

  1. We watched film:  Review some decisions on O & D.  Her rotations in the press, communication with teammates, reading the double teams.  Kiki needs to watch all film available from the Summer.  She will let me know if she needs help stitching everything together.
  2. We worked on outlets:  Rebounds with a 1, 2 dribble kick up.  Kiki has to work on keeping her eyes up.  She gotta see decision options before she can make em.  PG work.
  3. Running lanes:  Looking over her shoulder and not running with her back to the play. Catching the ball for corner 3's.  Pump fake and jab without traveling. Eyes up.  Driving with pace, stacking defender and finishing with a floater. With control. 2 Guard work.
  4. Press break flash: Catching and looking opposite, ball fake and push middle.
  5. Her shot was reviewed.  I wanna have Jessica take a look make recommendations and then lock it in for the next 90 days.  Tracy will work on handles, wiggle and ball control.  James will focus on everything else.
  6. Next:  Finalize her shot mechanics and flow.  Game film.  Schedule next date.

August 1st

  1. Kiki's natural run: Run, Run dribble, two dribbles. Trying to get her to be natural while dribbling the ball.
  2. Rebound outlet:  Rebounds outlets with a kick up and a basket cut. Clean up the in and out and keep eyes up.  Use eyes to manipulate the floor and make reads.
  3. Run the floor: Make play off the skip pass.  Mitty loves skip passes so attacking closeouts. Floater and pull up jumpers.
  4. Half court attack:  Attack from the wing.
  5. Iverson cuts:  Jab and dribble, get to the elbows.
  6. Next:  Clean up all the spots where she was able to make plays at.

August 2nd

  1. Warm up shots:  Working through release.
  2. Defender and Secondary:  With coach Tracy having the contact pad and working on reads. Top. Wings and Corners.
  3. Comments:  Eyes up. Simplify the in and out. Less dribbles to get to spots.  Keep dribble low.  Stay elusive.  Use backboard.
  4. Next:  Change of speeds looked good.  Rep out finishes.
